Former Montgomery High running back Kahlil Bell has signed a free-agent contract with the Minnesota Vikings.

Bell, who played at UCLA and was raised in Rohnert Park, spent his first two years in high school at Montgomery before his family moved to San Anselmo so he could attend Marin Catholic.

After an injury plagued career at UCLA and a subpar performance at the NFL Combine, Bell wasn’t selected in last week’s NFL Draft.

Vikings running backs coach Eric Bienemy recruited Bell at UCLA, which factored into his decision to sign with Minnesota. According to the Marin Independent Journal, the Bears, Bills, Cardinals, Panthers and Saints expressed an interst in signing Bell.
