The Sonoma State women’s golf team has earned a spot in the nine-team Division II Super Regional in just its second year of existence.

The Seawolves earned the No. 5 seed in the regional, which will be held May 4-6 at Ironwood Golf and Country Club in Omaha, Neb. The top three teams at the regional will advance to the 12-team NCAA Championships from May 13-16 in Findlay, Ohio.

The Seawolves have finished among the top four at four of the five tournaments they have played in this spring, placing second among 18 teams at the Grand Canyon University Invitational in early April. Junior Brittany Carrera, who won medalist honors at the GCU Invitational, ranks eighth in the nation with a 76.99 scoring average.
