Sonoma State senior Gary Moran has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week after allowing two hits and striking out a career-high 10 batters in a 10-1 win over 13th-ranked Cal State Stanislaus on Saturday.

Moran, a 6-foot-8, 265-pound right-hander, improved to 6-1 with a 1.58 ERA this season for the 15th-ranked Seawolves (24-9). Moran ranks 19th in the nation in ERA and has allowed four walks and struck out 51 in 51 innings. He ranks fifth in the nation in walks allowed per nine innings.

Moran ranks sixth in school history in wins (14) and seventh in strikeouts (138).
