Cal sophomore Amanda Sims (Montgomery) has qualified for this week’s NCAA Swimming Championships in two events. The NCAAs begin Thursday in College Station, Texas.

Sims, who helped lead the Bears to their Pac-10 title in late February in Federal Way, Wash., qualified in the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly.

Sims’ time of 51.59 seconds in the 100 fly is the ninth-fastest college time in the nation this season. Her time of 1:54.20 in the 200 fly ranks sixth.
