Sonoma State coach John Goelz got his 800th career victory Saturday as the Seawolves beat Cal State Stanisalus, 8-3, in the first game of a doubleheader.

Goelz, who has a career record of 800-497-5, is the ninth-winningest active coach in Division II and ranks 24th all-time.

SSU (9-4, 2-4 in CCAA) will host UC San Diego in a CCAA game at 2 p.m. Friday, weather permitting.
