Santa Rosa Junior College defensive end Donnie Pritchett has verbally committed to Fresno State.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Pritchett, from Santa Rosa High, had narrowed his choices to Fresno State and Kansas. Pritchett, who was born and raised in California, said Kansas had better facilities, but he preferred Fresno State’s location.

Pritchett didn’t play football his last two years at Santa Rosa High, playing basketball instead, and had never played defense until he played defensive tackle for SRJC last year. He was moved to defensive end after he lost about 50 pounds in the offseason.

Pritchett will sign a national letter of intent on Wednesday, National Signing Day.
