Two members of the Bear Cubs secondary, cornerback Diamond Weaver and safety Kyle Mathieu, signed scholarships last month during the early signing period for junior college players.

Weaver (5-10, 185 pounds) signed with Division I Akron and Mathieu (5-11, 200) signed with Henderson State, a Division II school in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Weaver, who is from Mobile, Ala., has 4.35 speed, according to Rivals.com. Mathieu played at Vintage High in Napa and transferred to SRJC from Solano College.
