The Sonoma State men’s soccer team wanted its last win to come in the Division II national championship game. Instead, the Seawolves’ last win came against the Division II national champions.

SSU beat Cal State Dominguez Hills on penalty kicks in CCAA Tournament title game on Nov. 9, the Toros’ last loss of the season.

The Seawolves’ followed with a 2-1 upset loss to Cal State L.A. in the first round of the NCAA West Regional. Dominguez Hills followed by winning five straight postseason games, a run that ended with a 3-0 win over Dowling College in the national title-game in Tampa, Fla., on Sunday.
