The Santa Rosa Junior College men’s soccer team has reached the state’s Final Four in seven of the past 10 years and won two state titles since 2001.

This year? Not much has changed.

After the Bear Cubs pounded Feather River 7-1 on Tuesday, they improved to 13-0-3 and they are ranked No. 2 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.
Feather River coach Jason Wharton is definitely a believer.

“We’re trying to do things in two or three touches that they are doing in one or two,” Wharton said. “… They’re a better team and they showed us where we need to be. We had a similar game against them last year and it kind of showed us ‘Hey, we thought we were among the NorCal’s best and we’re still a couple goals away.'”
