Hawaii quarterback Greg Alexander may be the most notable, but he won’t be the only former Santa Rosa Junior College star to start against one of the nation’s top programs in the next two weeks.

Koa Misi, a junior defensive lineman at Utah, will play with the Utes at the University of Michigan on Saturday. Misi, who played at Montgomery, started 11 games for Utah last year and had 8 tackles for a loss and 2 1/2 sacks.

University of Texas El Paso junior cornerback Clarence Ward will line up against No. 11 Texas, which visits El Paso, on Sept. 6. Ward originally signed with Florida State out of Pensacola (Fla.) High. He was an all-Nor Cal Conference selection as a defensive back and kick returner at SRJC last year.

Ex-Bear Cub running back Evan Williams, a junior, will start for Western Carolina when the Catamounts visit Florida State on Sept. 6.

In addition, Arizona senior cornerback Marquis Hundley, a Vallejo native, will start against visiting Idaho on Saturday. Ulla Pomele, a former star at Elsie Allen High, will start at linebacker for Kansas State, which hosts North Texas on Saturday.
