Sophomore Grayson Galloway is expected to be the Bear Cubs’ starting quarterback this season. Galloway, who will follow in the footsteps of Adam Froman (Louisville) and Greg Alexander (Hawaii) is the stepson of former NFL quarterback Craig Morton.
The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Galloway, who attended Redwood High in Larkspur, completed 5 of 7 passes for 52 yards and one touchdown while backing up Froman last year.
Waiting in the wings could be Blake Bledsoe, a distant cousin of 14-year NFL veteran Drew Bledsoe. Blake Bledsoe, a 6-foot, 180-pounder who attended Central Valley High in Spokane, Wash., was named the MVP of Washington’s East-West All-Star game in late June. He completed 10 of 18 passes for 88 yards and ran for 38 yards in the game.
SRJC coach Keith Simons said Bledsoe will redshirt this season. Bledsoe had planned to walk-on at Washington State before deciding to attend SRJC.
