Sonoma State soccer standout Lindsay Catton has been named to the NCAA Division II All-Far West Region First Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Catton, a back for the Seawolves, scored five goals, including two penalty kicks in addition to anchoring the defense. For her career at Sonoma State, Catton scored 17 goals and tallied 14 assists.

The Seawolves finished 2009 with a 8-9-3 record overall and were 6-7-3 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association.

The senior from Rohnert Park also was named to the west region squad last year.

Catton was named to the All-CCAA First Team the past two seasons.

Earning a spot on the all-region first team puts Catton on the Daktronics Division II Women’s Soccer All-America ballot to be announced later this month.
