After winning Sonoma State’s first conference tournament crown, the Seawolves’ softball team must wait until Monday to learn where they will play in the NCAA Division II Championship.

Where the Seawolves are ranked in the final West Region poll Monday determines if Sonoma State hosts a four-team regional or goes on the road. Sonoma State was ranked third in the latest regional poll.

The top eight teams qualify for the NCAA playoffs. The number one and two teams host regional playoffs. The winners meet in a super regional to decide who advances out of the West to the Division II world series.

Sonoma State is 42-16 — a single-season school record for wins. After losing the California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament opener, the Seawolves took four straight to capture the title in Stockton over the Weekend and the league’s automatic berth in the NCAA playoffs.
