Sonoma State forward and Analy graduate Taylor Varnadore was named the Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Soccer Player of the Week after scoring four goals as the Seawolves split two league games.

A freshman, Varnadore scored twice in a 5-3 loss to Cal Poly Pomona and again netted a pair in a 3-1 upset win over No. 10 Cal State San Bernardino.

Varnadore is the first Sonoma State men’s soccer player to earn the weekly award in two seasons.

Sonoma State — 3-1 overall and 1-1 in CCAA play — hosts Cal State East Bay on Friday at 4 p.m. and UC San Diego on Sunday at 2 p.m.
