Adding a pair of game-winning goals for Sonoma State to his team-leading scoring sheet, Trevor Hurst out of Piner High has been named Wilson/CCAA Men’s Soccer Player of the Week.

SRJC’s Trevor Hurst and Evergreen Valley College’s Felix Alvarez collide as they go after the ball during their game on Tuesday, November 25, 2008. SRJC won the game 2-1.

Hurst paced the Seawolves to wins over nationally ranked Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus that carried Sonoma State into second place in the California Collegiate Athletic Association’s North Division. The former Santa Rosa Junior College standout also added a pair of assists in the second victory and has 20 points on the season (eight goals and four assists).

Raising their record to 8-4 overall and 6-4 in CCAA play, Sonoma State plays five of its final six league contests on the road in a bid to return to the CCAA Championship Tournament for a seventh consecutive season.

The Seawolves visit Cal State Los Angeles on Friday and then play at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Sunday. The lone remaining home game is against Humboldt State on Oct. 24 in Rohnert Park.
