Scoring four goals in two wins has netted Sonoma State soccer standout Taylor Varnadore the Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Soccer Player of the Week honor.

The former Analy player scored two goals within five minutes of each other in Sonoma State’s win over Cal State East Bay on Friday and headed in both Seawolves scores in Sunday’s victory over Cal State Monterey Bay. For the season, Varnadore leads the CCAA in goals with six and points with 13.

A year ago, Varnadore was CCAA Men’s Soccer Freshman of the Year and was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-West Region team

Led by returning top scorers and former Empire prep standouts Trevor Hurst – Piner High, Santa Rosa Junior College — and Varnadore, the Seawolves are ranked No. 21 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II Top 25 poll.

Sonoma State leads the CCAA North Division. The Seawolves are 5-1-0 overall and 4-0-0 in the conference.
