The latest Sonoma State Athletics Hall of Fame class to be inducted Saturday features former volleyball, baseball, basketball and soccer standouts.

The 2011 class is Tommy Everidge, Emiria Salzmann, Jennifer Clifton, Paula DeCosta (Kayler), and Erik Johnson.

–Everidge (Sonoma Valley High): The California Collegiate Athletic Association Freshman of the Year in 2002, Everidge was a three-time all-league pick and a Second Team All-American in 2004. He helped take Sonoma State to the championship game of the NCAA West Regional twice. Everidge is second in the Seawolves record books for runs scored (158), hits (213), doubles (43), home runs (32), runs batted in (153), and walks (91).  Everidge was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 10th round of the 2004 Major League Baseball draft and he made his big league debut in 2009, becoming the third player in school history to reach the majors.

–Salzmann (Piner High): A prolific scorer, Salzmann helped lead Sonoma State to a Northern California Athletic Conference title in 1994 and the NCAA semifinals in 1995. Three times all-conference and two times all-region, Salzmann – 1994-96 — was named an NSCAA All-American as a senior. That season she scored 16 goals, second in school history for a single season. Salzmann’s career total of 38 goals ranks second in school history.

–Clifton (Napa/Vintage High School): In four seasons with the Sonoma State volleyball team – 1992-95 – Clifton helped lead the Seawolves to a conference championship and was a three-time All-Northern California Athletic Conference selection. She ranks sixth in school history for service aces (107), second in blocks (347), seventh in digs (936) and fifth in kills (899).

–DeCosta (Oakley): Then Paula Kayler, she played four years of volleyball and one year of basketball at Sonoma State, from 1979 to 1983.  One of the top setters in team history, she helped lead Sonoma State to the school’s first NCAA Championship Tournament, in 1982.

–Johnson (Vallejo/Vallejo High): Johnson – 1982-86 — led the Sonoma State men’s basketball team in scoring as a sophomore, junior, and senior. He was also SSU’s leading rebounder as a junior and a senior and his 32 blocks as a junior remain the Seawolves single season high. Johnson still ranks third in school history in points (1,227), fourth in rebounds (550), and second in blocks (70).
