Sonoma State hosts the California Collegiate Athletic Association Cross Country Championships at Spring Lake Regional Park in Santa Rosa on Saturday.
The races over the famed Empire course will have a handful of top NCAA Division 2 West Region teams competing.
Chico State’s women, No. 1 in the region, seek a fourth consecutive CCAA title. UC San Diego and Cal Poly Pomona also are ranked in the top five for the region.
Sonoma State’s women will be in the field.
Seeking a tenth straight conference title are the Chico State men, ranked No. 1 in the region. San Francisco State, UC San Diego, and Cal Poly Pomona also are ranked in the top ten for the region.
The women take off at 8 a.m. The men start at 9 a.m.
Sonoma State last hosted a CCAA championship in 2002 when the men’s soccer championships were held in Petaluma.
