Empire big men Matt Cousins and Jacob Noisat made the Pac West Conference weekly honor roll for their play in the NCAA Division II league.

Cousins leads Chaminade University in scoring and rebounding, helping pace the Silverswords to second place in the Pac West. The former All-Empire player from Cardinal Newman is second in the conference averagingboth 17 points and 8 rebounds a game.

Noisat is Dominican University’s top scorer with 11 points per contest to go with his team leading 7 rebounds a game. The onetime Elsie Allen great has become the Penguins anchor in posting wins.

The pair, who workout together over summers, met in a league contest at Dominican earlier in January. Chaminade held on for the win. Cousins had 11 points and 7 rebounds. Noisat recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. The teams meet again in Honolul in February.

In his senior year at Chaminade, in Honolulu, Cousins would love another opportunity to compete in the NCAA Division II national tournament. He helped lead Chaminade to the Pac West title last season.

A junior, Noisat is in his first year at Dominican, in San Rafael, after transferring from Chabot College.
