Former Empire prep standouts earned junior college all-league football honors among the six conferences in Northern California.

Leading the Santa Rosa Junior College selections to the Nor Cal Conference team was Garrett Guanella, a defensive end from Cardinal Newman. Guanella totaled 85 tackles including 18 for losses, ranking fifth among players from across Northern California.

Offensive lineman Dante Cattaneo, from Montgomery, was another Nor Cal pick for SRJC.

Also making the Nor Cal team from SRJC was Jordan Bergstrom, a wide receiver from Clackamas, Ore.

Leading the Empire selections to the Bay Valley Conference team were Aaron Dhuyvetter, from Ukiah High, and Kevin Brown, out of Windsor.

The conference offensive player of the year from Mendocino College, Dhuyvetter led all Northern California receivers with 136 yards a game.

Dhuyvetter totaled 66 catches for the season.

Brown, a College of the Redwoods linebacker, topped all Northern California defenders with 119 tackles.

Also making the Bay Valley team for Mendocino College were quarterback Kyle Harmyk, from Middletown, and defensive lineman Brett Bowers, out of Ukiah High.

Three other Mendocino College players were all-league: Ryan Brethower, receiver, Yamill-Carlton, Ore.; Ryan Moon, linebacker, Hoopa Valley; and Darion Shine, defensive back, Charlotte.
