Scoring four goals and two assists in a pair of Sonoma State soccer victories earned Taylor Varnadore the Wilson/California Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Soccer Player of the Week award.

Varnadore, a Sonoma State senior and Analy High graduate, led the Seawolves to comeback wins over Humboldt State and Cal State Stanislaus. The senior standout now has nine goals on the season, tied for third in the conference. Varnadore is fourth in total points.

The weekend scoring surge moved Varnadore to third all-time in total goals scored for the Sonoma State men’s program.

Sonoma State is first in the CCAA North Division. Unbeaten in the team’s past six matches, the Seawolves finish the regular season with road contests Friday at Cal State East Bay and Sunday at Humboldt State.

If the Seawolves win the division, it’ll be the first time Sonoma State reaches the CCAA Soccer Championships since 2010. The tournament will take place at Cal State Stanislaus Nov. 8-10.
