Led by former Empire prep standouts the Santa Rosa women are ranked high in junior college soccer polls and aiming for the state playoffs.

Santa Rosa is No. 11 in the latest California Community College Athletic Association statewide rankings and sixth in Northern California.

With the season finale Wednesday against visiting Diablo Valley the Bear Cubs are second in the very tough Big 8 Conference. Three conference teams are in the Northern California top ten including Big 8 leader Sierra.

Game time for the season ending match is 3 p.m. Wednesday

Santa Rosa ’s offense is paced by Christina Rebata, from Casa Grande, who leads the Big 8 in goals and is second in total points. Twin sister Courtney Rebata also is among the conference’s top scorers.

Leading the conference in assists is Jill Anderson, out of Santa Rosa high.

Goal keeping also has been strong for the Bear Cubs. Keaton Wheeler, from, Analy, and Ayelet Harr, out of Piedmont, are among conference leaders in saves, save percentage, and goals against average.
