Justin Herold capped a career as one of Sonoma State’s all-time best basketball players with his selection to the 2014 All-California Collegiate Athletic Association men’s second team.
The former Maria Carrillo High School standout led Sonoma State in scoring and rebounding — averaging 14 points and 6 rebounds — on the season. Herold also topped the Seawolves in blocks and steals.
A forward-center, Herold’s rebounding total tied for eighth in the CCAA and he was second in conference shooting percentage.
Joining the Seawolves as a sophomore, Herold was All-CCAA First Team that season and also the conference’s Newcomer of the Year.
Herold was a three-year starter who steadily climbed the program’s record books. He finished second on the career field goal percentage list, fourth in blocks, seventh in rebounds, and is No. 14 on the program’s all-time scoring list.
