The Seawolves finished its first week of the season with a 5-0 record. As a result, their second week of the season began with some honors.
SSU senior shortstop Leo Avila was named the CCAA Player of the Week and junior pitcher Cameron Ray was named the CCAA Pitcher of the Week on Monday on the heels of the Seawolves’ impressive opening.

Dash Buntjer, a 2006 graduate of Montgomery High, signed a national letter of intent to play football at Division I-AA Alabama A&M in Huntsville, Ala., this week.
Buntjer is a 5-foot-11, 248-pound fullback who played the past two years at Scottsdale (Ariz.) Community College. A strong blocker, he rushed for 169 yards on 25 carries as a sophomore.
Buntjer earned all-league honors in football, wrestling and rugby at Montgomery.

Santa Rosa Junior College defensive end Donnie Pritchett has verbally committed to Fresno State.
The 6-foot-4, 260-pound Pritchett, from Santa Rosa High, had narrowed his choices to Fresno State and Kansas. Pritchett, who was born and raised in California, said Kansas had better facilities, but he preferred Fresno State’s location.
