Add All-American to Sonoma State volleyball star Keala Peterson’s resume after the former Analy High School standout was honored by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Both Peterson and teammate Taylor Krenwinkel, from San Diego, earned honorable mention on the coaches’ Division II national team after earlier they were named named to the All-West Region squad.

Peterson, an outside hitter, had a fine all-around season. She finished second on the team in kills with 3.35 per set and was third in digs. She recorded six double-doubles in kills and digs this season. Peterson is on pace to set the Sonoma State career record in kills.

The Seawolves’ libero, Krenwinkel led the team and was second in the conference with 4.91 digs per set. She is third on the Sonoma State career digs list and should set the record next season..

Both Peterson and Krenwinkel are juniors and return next season, when Sonoma State aims for a return to the NCAA Division II West Regional playoffs. The Seawolves went 17-10 this season and lost in the first round of the regionals – the school’s third consecutive appearance.

Peterson was the Empire prep volleyball player of the year for the 2007 season at Analy.
