Led by Mitch Ortiz, from Piner high, Santa Rosa Junior College placed five players on the 2010 Nor Cal Conference All-League team.

Ortiz, a sophomore, led all California junior college receivers in catches and yards and was second in touchdown receptions. He was a unanimous pick for all-league honors.

Another Sonoma County prep standout named to the team was Mitch Reab, a second year offensive lineman from El Molino high.

Cameron Richmond, a sophomore wide receiver from Rodriguez high, in Fairfield, earned all-league honors on offense.

On Defense, Gaston Benson, a sophomore from La Marque high in La Marque, Texas, was a unanimous selection at defensive back.

Another defensive back, Jason Verrett, was named to the defensive team. Verrett is a freshman from Rodriguez high.

The Bear Cubs went 3-7 this season, the second consecutive year Santa Rosa didn’t qualify for one of the state’s junior college bowl games.
