Sonoma State’s softball team moved up a spot to second in the NCAA Division II West Region and remained at 19th in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association’s national poll Wednesday.

Hawaii Pacific held onto the top spot in the region and Sonoma State bumped Grand Canyon to number three in the region.

After winning their first California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament title, the Seawolves are 42-16, a school record for wins.

Next up for Sonoma State is the NCAA West Regionals. The eight team field will be announced Monday.
