The Sonoma State women’s basketball team is adding a pair of Santa Rosa prep standouts to its roster.

Joining the Seawolves are Ursuline forward and first team All-Empire selection Bronte Sheahan, and Santa Rosa Junior College guard-forward Aly Henington, who played for Maria Carrillo.

Sheahan, a 5 foot 11 post player, helped lead Ursuline to the North Coast Section playoffs. She was a top scorer and rebounder with a strong inside-outside game.

A stout defender with a sharp outside shot, the 5 foot 10 Henington can play wing or down low. She averaged 6.1 points and 5.2 rebounds for the Bear Cubs, who reached the California junior college final four. Henington was a second team All-Empire player at Maria Carrillo.

“We feel very fortunate to get two quality individuals in Aly Henington and Bronte Sheahan. The fact that they are both local high school products is a plus,” said Sonoma State coach Mark Rigby.
