Led by former Empire prep standouts the Santa Rosa women are ranked high in junior college soccer polls.

Santa Rosa is ninth in the latest California Community College Athletic Association rankings, including fifth in Northern California.

Christina Rebata, from Casa Grande, leads the Bear Cubs and the Big 8 Conference in goals and total points. Twin sister Courtney Rebata is among the conference’s top scorers.

Pacing the conference in assists is Jill Anderson, out of Santa Rosa high.

A stingy defense is anchored by Keaton Wheeler. The former Analy player leads the conference in save percentage and is second in goals against average.

Tuning up for a return to the state playoffs, Santa Rosa is in a battle for the Big 8 title. The Bear Cubs play at first place Sierra today with a win moving Santa Rosa back into the top spot.
